Dr. Pamela S. Hodges through Western Baptist Hospital now offers the advanced da Vinci™ Robotic Surgery. The advantages for the patients are decreased pain, decreased blood loss, shorter hospital stay and more rapid return to daily activity.

Some gynecologic surgeries are particularly amenable to robotic assistance including: hysterectomy, removal of ovaries, removal of fibroids, surgery on the fallopian tubes, and advanced lymph node dissection for cancer cases.

H.T.A. (Hydrothermal Endometrial Ablation)

Hydrothermal endometrial is a  procedure that destroys the lining of the uterus by introducing hot water into the uterine cavity.  This procedure can be performed in the office under local anesthesia and is used for an alternative to hysterectomy.  This procedure is appropriate for many women with heavy bleeding who in the past would have had to undergo a hysterectomy.  The recuperative time is only 48 hours and is 96% effective.
