H.T.A.  (Hydrothermal endometrial ablation)

Hydrothermal endometrial ablation is a new procedure
that destroys the lining of the uterus by introducing
hot water into the uterine cavity.  This procedure can
be performed in the office under local anesthesia and is
used for an alternative to hysterectomy.  This
procedure is appropriate for many women with heavy
bleeding who in the past would have had to undergo a
hysterectomy.  The recuperative time is only 48 hours
and is 96% effective.
